Changing Spaces with FACET
Spaces have Attributes that can be changes either in the database or on the
drawing.
Examples of changeable items include:
-
Location
number. (The unique number you have assigned to an individual space,
be it an office, cubicle, storage area, or conference room).
-
Alternative location name. (For example, “executive conference room”).
-
Building. (Building name if multiple buildings are managed).
-
Section. (Typically for large floor plates, that are sectioned into
“east”, and “west”, etc.).
-
Square footage. (Each space square footage is calculated and entered
into the database by FACET during the conversion process).
-
Lock I.D. (The door lock I.D. is indicated to assist in managing
individual locks and lock families).
-
Class of office space. (By classifying space, more detailed queries are
achievable, for example, “executive offices”, “cubicles” etc. In so
doing you are able to measure the number of each class of space in total
or occupied vs. unoccupied by Division/Department.
-
Layout
sheet. (During a planned move, you would automatically print out a
layout sheet for each move participant to enable each participant to draw in where
they would like their desk, bookcase, etc. in the new space.

-
Allocate to division. (By allocating each space to a
Division/Department, you are able to measure occupancy and charge-back
amounts).
-
If
this space is checked … (Utilized to identify spaces not charged to a
particular Division/Department, such a space might be “fitness center”
etc.).
-
Designated a storage area. (If checked, this space would be charged to
general overhead and not a particular department).
-
Space attributes. (A listing of all assets currently within or attached
to the space. This can be changed at any time).
-
Jack I.D. (A listing of the current active phone lines).
-
Number of occupants. (Current list of occupants)
