These requirements, be it a desk, an analog phone
line for a fax machine or a white board, etc., are termed ”Occupant
requirements”.
All spaces have “Attributes”.
These attributes can be a desk that is
already in the space, an analog line that is active and a door lock
that is already installed.
During a move plan FACET will compare what is required by the occupant
vs. what is available within the space and report the differences.
These differences will become action items for the Facilities Professional.
FACET will search the enterprise and list where the required assets
reside and list them by the shortest distance.
Within a space map, colors are used to define Divisions (Space Number) and
Department (Occupant Name). Utilizing this process enables all to clearly
understand population disbursement throughout the facility. In addition,
perimeter colors or complete Divisional footprint colors can be drawn to further
illustrate group occupancy.
Maps:
Maps are an important part of Facilities Management planning as they not only
show
locations by
Name, Department and Division, they also indicate important features such
as Emergency Pathways, Emergency Exits, and Floor Wardens (those people
expected to assist in evacuations, etc.)
Currently, many organizations are also installing Defibrillators, the new
emergency cardiac stimulus device for non-medical (but trained) staff for use in
an emergency. The location of these devices would also be indicated on space
maps.
Mail
Stops are indicated and the Facilities Manager is notified if an occupant moves
from that zone to another and needs to be re-mapped to another location.
Custom images can also be developed to further enhance your maps.
